Dagnabit I have to vote tomorrow. I really don’t like any of them on either side. I’m pulling a Rebublican ballott to vote against Trumpf, because I think he’s dangerous. If you disagree, that’s fine. I’m not interested in a debate, vote your conscience.
What are Oppo’s thoughts on Trumpf’s competitors? Good, bad, ugly, recommendations, whatever. Everybody’s thoughts are welcome, but I’m not interested in an argument.

If you’re voting republican, Kasich is the easy choice, the only adult on that side.
On the democrat side, Bernie Sanders is the way to go.

I’m voting for Kasich. He’s got a great resume and seems to be the most moderate and reasonable of the bunch, and he hasn’t engaged in the ridiculous rhetoric and name calling the rest have. I think Trump is full of shit; while I like that he’s self-funding, he’s got no specifics and yes, I agree he could be dangerous. Cruz is just really unappealing to me; I find him strident, too conservative and he gives me a creepy-crawly feeling inside. I get the sense that Rubio is a GOPuppet who doesn’t feel comfortable in his own skin.

Trump is the only one who can change things, everyone else is bought by big donors, Kasich is funded by Soros. How can you expect the people who caused the problem to fix it. And if you don’t see a problem , you need to pull your head out the sand. Bernie is a carrier politician, only job he has ever had is being an elected official. Trump is the only one that cares about the blue collar worker, the rest want to replace you with cheap foreign labor.

People hate Cruz because he pursuaded others to execute the wonderful gov’t shutdown to dismember Obamacare and then failed to do so. He’s a creepy fuck. And NYTimes bizarrely made an article on how he tried to make kids laugh.
Rubio is decent. He plays himself as a “moderate” but is a bit more right in the spectrum than the others.
Kasich is sane. He’s a uniter, but I really doubt he is one. I’d go for him. He’s rational about his decisions and isn’t an attention whore.

I think your inclination to vote Kasich is a very good one and I would encourage you to stick to it, more so after reading all the comments here. I’m gonna go against the grain a little here and say research each candidate’s official positions from their website. No use in voting for someone if you don’t agree with what they want to do, and the current republican field varies widely in their positions.
If you find someone with ideas you like and think are feasible, look into their political history. See if what they promise online lines up with what they have voted for. If they changed their opinion on issues, was it because they were open minded or did they flip flop to get into office? Check out who is donating to them and how much (translation: how many favors they will owe), and generally think about their past accomplishments and whether they would make a good leader.
Then, think about their chance at a victory. Is there a candidate who might also be near to what you support with a better path to the presidency? Iterate these steps until you find your candidate.
If you find you would not want to lend your support to any candidate, I would almost recommend against voting in this primary. Low voter turn out still sends a signal to the party that the people are displeased with the candidates, and this will certainly be reviewed in future elections. Plus I think voting “anyone but X” is a smidge childish, as the “anyone” you pick might hold political positions which you could disagree with more.

Among the Republicans, Kasich is the least harmful, but still a harmful choice as President. Marco is the second most harmful. I am tied with Trump and Cruz as the most harmful President.
Good on you to do something to stop Trump. I appreciate that :)
Is there any chance you can change your affiliation and then vote for Bernie in the primaries after you vote against Trump? I think that would be even better :)

He isn’t self funding. His website has a donate button and he’s taken around 6 million dollars in donations so far.
And the money he’s getting from his companies is a loan. So anything that’s not spent goes back. And this is purely me here, but it isn’t a far fetched assumption to think that the donated money gets spent first.

Well... By “women’s healthcare” what I really meant a women’s right to choose. I, personally, find pretty disgusting when a political party (who’s major offer is to get government off our collective backs), feels that a legislative body (of 90% dudes) knows what’s best for a woman’s uterus.. It’s the principle.
Women and their own doctors should be making her decisions- not kasich and some hysterical puritans.

As someone who manages a small business I can tell you that is very wrong. My health insurance premiums have doubled while my employees out of pocket costs have significantly increased while actual coverage has been unchanged or gotten slightly worse. As a company we pay 100% of the health insurance premiums for our employees. Pre-Obamacare premiums were ~$800/mo for family coverage. Now the premiums are ~$1600/mo.
Employees don’t see anything beyond their out of pocket costs, and they bitch that those have gone up. They bitch that there aren’t raises to cover the increased costs, yet they don’t realize that we are eating a 100% increase in their premiums. You might not see how a presidents policies affect you daily, but they very much do.
As for who to vote for, I don’t know. This election has absolutely no good choices. On the Republican side Rubio and Kasich have no chance of getting the nomination so I couldn’t vote for them. Cruz is a nut job who I think is even more dangerous than Trump. Trump is an asshole and I couldn’t bring myself to vote for him. As for Hillary, I think she is incredibly dangerous, and being old enough to remember the Cold War I can’t bring myself to vote for a self professed socialist.
